GUITAR TUITION IN BURGESS HILL, WEST SUSSEX
ACOUSTIC GUITAR LESSONS IN WEST SUSSEX
Whether you’re looking to learn simple accompaniment styles, solo playing or a combination I can help. I teach you simple strumming and more varied accompaniment techniques including bass strum, finger picking, broken chords and double time strumming. I have developed some exercises in melody playing that includes some exercises with backing tracks.
I have a number of solo guitar studies that demonstrate many different techniques and I can teach you how to arrange a song for acoustic guitar and vocals.
I can also teach 12-String acoustic guitar if that is something you have ever considered trying.
CLASSICAL GUITAR PLAYING
If you’re looking to learn the classic guitar, I can prepare you to take classic guitar exams or just play for fun. I can help you with aural and sight-reading tests for both Trinity Guildhall and Associated Board exams.
If you just want to learn classic guitar for fun, you can work with me on pieces that build up a repertoire of pieces.
Electric guitar lessons
You can start electric guitar at any level. I put the emphasis on learning all aspects of electric guitar playing such as rhythm, lead and the grey areas between the two.
At each level, I teach written solos in different styles that show a number of techniques. You can also learn to improvise in different genres including blues, major and minor keys, and modes. I also have many rhythm guitar exercises that demonstrate different styles and techniques.
I can also prepare you for Rockschool exams. If you’re taking music at school or college, grades 6 to 8 count towards UCAS points. Get in touch for more details.
If you’d like to learn a particular song, I have a large library of music that you can listen to and learn from. I believe in teaching the whole song rather than just the introduction to a song. With my help, you can have the confidence to play music along with other musicians too.
All audio for lessons available on mp3s, most with backing tracks so you can hear the parts in context.
